1. Disneyland
This is the original theme park in the Disney Franchise.It is the cleanest and the best theme park in this part of the world. This is one place where you can wear a Goofy hat and still not look silly. Just besides Disneyland is another theme park – California Adventure. Before you leave this place, go to Downtown Disney which is a large shopping and dining area.
2. The Malibu Coast
The Malibu is one of the prettiest and impressive coastlines in the world. You will love driving past the backs of houses which overlook the splendid beach. The beach here run east and west thereby creating a beautiful setting, ideal for surfing on a good day. The Beach Boys song made the Southern Californian Beach a household name and now we know why. While you are in Malibu, do not forget to visit the Getty Villa which is a conglomeration of Roman and Greek antiquities in a villa.
3. Farmers Market
The Farmers Market is a lively place where you can eat and drink to your heart’s content. There are a number of food stalls which are rated highly by the tourists for their world class cuisine.The Grove shopping area is just nearby where you can shop, watch a movie or enjoy a hearty meal in a restaurant.
4. Six Flags Magic Mountain
Magic Mountain is a 45 min drive from Los Angeles which is a great place if you are an adrenaline junkie. It has some of the scariest and extreme coasters in the world. For instance, the Goliath drops into a dark tunnel from a height of 255 feet at a hair raising speed of 85 miles/hour. Phew! The Riddler’s Revenge is the world’s fastest stand-up roller coaster which will turn you upside down 6 times in a single ride. Need we say more?
5. Hollywood
You just cannot miss this. The majority of the tourists come to a place called the Hollywood Boulevard. You will find the Walk of Fame and will also meet the celebrity impersonators who grace the sidewalks. Visit the Hollywood Heritage Museum,Paramount Studios, Hollywood Sign and the Hollywood Bowl. Do not miss the Madame Tussaud’s showcase of celebrities’ wax statues.
